Holosun 515GT

The Holosun 515G-T is a high-end rifle red dot sight intended for duty use and for competing with the Aimpoint Micro series. The G in its denomination indicates a side-loaded battery tray and the T, made of titanium. The IPX rating of this device is 8, above the usual 67 of Holosun products.

The fact this sight comes without a solar panel indicates serious duty use and is one of the strengths of this device in our opinion.

The reticle modes available are 2 MOA dot and 2 MOA dot surrounded by a 65 MOA ring resembling Eotech’s.

The “shake awake” feature means the device will power off automatically after a few minutes of not detecting movement, and will power on immediately after detecting the slightest movement or vibration. However, we recommend turning off the device when not in use.

It comes in a durable plastic box resembling Eotech and Trijicon products, which sets this device apart from other Holosun products.

It also comes with all the hardware necessary for its installation and a quality detachable Picatinny mount with a QD lever. The mount height is Holosun’s/Sig Romeo’s interpretation of lower 1/3rd cowitness (1.63 inches), as opposed to the traditional interpretation of 1.54 inches. We recommend applying Loctite 243 on the screws and marking the screw heads to identify if they become untorqued.

The footprint of this device is Aimpoint Micro, so it’s easy to find alternative mount types and heights. As a general rule, high-rail weapons such as the AK, G36 and MP5 platforms should use lower mounts.

Flip-up lens covers are included, as well as an ARD (anti reflection device) or “kill flash”.

What are the differences between the 515G-T and the Sig Romeo4T?
The differences are:
