Aimpoint PRO

The PRO was released in 2011 and we still consider it to be the best option for a “cheap” Aimpoint. It follows a similar pattern to the older CompM2 model fielded by the US Army and has the same night vision compatibility and light transmission, as well as the outstanding durability inherent to Aimpoint devices.

While the PRO was marketed as a law enforcement optic, it is perfectly valid for a variety of applications, including military.

It comes with a quality mount and a twist knob adjusted for the exact torque needed to firmly mount it to a Picatinny rail. Two clicks of the knob indicate the mounting screw is properly torqued.

Two mounting heights are available by using or removing the provided spacer: 
- a 30 mm (1.18 inch) which approximates an upper 1/3rd cowitness, we do not recommend this height on a standard AR-15 weapon, but it can be a good option on other weapons with a higher rail over bore
- a 39 mm (1.54 inch) which is Aimpoint’s interpretation of lower 1/3rd cowitness, we recommend this height on standard AR-15 weapons

We recommend using Loctite 243 on the mounting screws.

What are the differences between the PRO and CompM4 series?

- The CompM4 has 3 more night vision intensities available
- The CompM4 has a better light transmission (70% as opposed to 60%) 
- The CompM4 transmits a wider range of wavelengths of the visible light spectrum (420 to 900 nm, instead of 420 to 700)
- The CompM4 has 50,000 more hours of battery life (circa 5 years)
- The CompM4 uses AA batteries instead of a DL1/3N or 2L76
- The CompM4 is larger and heavier
