BK Precise – set of shims for M15x1 muzzles

The most important part of mounting a suppressor is the muzzle host (flash hider, muzzle brake, compensator, etc.). Not only does it have to match the tolerances of the suppressor mount, but it also must guarantee correct axial alignment with the bore of the weapon. 

If this is not guaranteed, concentricity of suppressor baffles in relation to the bore is compromised, and when shooting with a suppressor, this in turn can lead to a baffle strike – or worse.

Many rifles have crush washers, or even nothing, backing their muzzle devices. This is problematic because crush washers (or the lack of anything) do not crush uniformly when torquing the muzzle device onto the barrel, potentially leading to axial alignment and concentricity issues.

These issues might not be a problem for recreational shooters who don’t shoot suppressed, but for serious end users who do heavy suppressed shooting, it is a very important concern. 

Shims of the exact proper tolerances are the proper way to provide support for your muzzle device. This set of shims will allow correct axial alignment of your muzzle device and also, when using different amounts of shims, correct timing (for example some devices need a notch to be at 6 o’clock).

PLEASE NOTE this set of shims is designed for .223/5.56 mm weapons with a M15x1 (metric) muzzle thread pitch, such as the HK G36 and HK 416.
