Nalgene products are made in the US from Tritan, a plastic which is BPA and BPS free. This means it will not contaminate water with chemical toxins known to act as endocrine disruptors (phytoestrogens, xenoestrogens and others) in the human body.

This bottle is based on the US Army M-1961 canteen. The design of this bottle has not changed since the Vietnam era and, even after the introduction of modern solutions like drinking bladders, still offers many advantages. It’s very tough and its contour adapts well to the shape of the body keeping weight close to the centre of gravity of the user, fits well into a rucksack and will not roll on the floor. 

It retains all the advantages of the M-1961 design, but is more durable, healthier and will not contaminate your water supply with plastic flavour and smell. It is also compatible with military-issue canteen covers and cups.
